Recall the B.C. legislature for its traditional fall session

Premier Christy Clark, Premier of British Columbia
On September 17th, the House of Commons will return to work in Ottawa. Provincial Legislatures, Parliaments and Assemblies across Canada will also be returning to work, but not in B.C.
Last week, the B.C. government announced that the B.C. Legislature will not return to work at all in 2012, and MLAs will likely not be back in their seats before February 2013.
Important issues face British Columbia today, including: the Northern Gateway Pipeline proposal, government finances, education, healthcare and collective bargaining negotiations with public sector unions just to name five.
British Columbians deserve to hear both the government and the opposition's views and plans regarding these and other issues through debate and Question Period.
Sittings of the legislature are paramount to an effective and accountable democracy.
