''Spare health promoting Food Supplements from 23% VAT''  - plea to Minister for Finance

All Irish citizens have been severely affected by the economic burden . Many can no longer afford private health insurance and fear the long waiting lists of the current public system. The Irish Government look set to apply 23 % vat to the sale of health protecting Food Supplements- … widely used to protect and enhance normal health. Vitamins, Minerals and Omegas are safe - for now..... but everything else could to be liable to this draconian tax on such essentials as joint protection for the elderly and immune support for both children and adults. Taxing people's efforts to protect their health has to be the last straw ! We need an assurance that protecting your health is not liable for tax !
