The Andritsaina Library in Elis, Peloponnese, is one of the most historical public libraries in Greece. It was founded in 1840, and it contains manuscripts dating from the Franks and Venetians era, along with memoirs of the Greek revolutionaries, from the War of Greek Independence in 1821.

However, as a result of the austerity memorandum imposed on Greece, this library is about to close.
