Stop inappropriate development in Jasper National Park

The Harper Government has been heavily lobbied by Brewster Travel Canada, a subsidiary of the US multinational VIAD, to allow it to privatize a popular public viewpoint alongside the world-famous Icefields Parkway in Jasper National Park. Brewster wants to blast a 300 m trail along a mountainside in important wildlife habitat and charge visitors for access to a huge glass-floored skywalk sticking out over a small canyon.
This could start a dangerous precedent to construct other thrill-based projects in this World Heritage Site and goes entirely against what Canadians – and visitors – have said they expect of this wild and magnificent national park.
A decision is expected before the end of January. Please ask Prime Minister Harper not to allow it.
