We need to hurry! Add your names!

The petition is due to be delivered and closed on the 11th of December. Just next week! We will be presenting it to MP Steffan Browning from the Green party in front of parliament in Wellington between 1:00 - 1:30pm. It will be the final breath of this petition and hopefully our voices will be heard and noticed.

I am a seventeen-year-old who lives in the Marlborough Sounds and have done so all my life. I am working on an award-winning environmental project my family has spent the last 20 years building from the ground up.

I am calling on fellow New Zealanders and also international visitors to sign this petition and help create a worthy message. We DON’T want eight new salmon farms in the marine farm prohibited areas in Marlborough Sounds.

There are already eight salmon farms here, and they have had major issues earlier this year with one of their farms. For more information, go to www.saveoursounds.co.nz

In the last week I have been fortunate enough to witness orca at our place. It is spectecular and incredibly inspiring. On a site trip we took samples of the seafloor at the existing salmon farms. The seafloor was black with rot and there was no life. Is this the environment we want for our future?
