To ban water fluoridation in Ireland

The water in Ireland is fluoridated since 1964. The chemicals used in water fluoridation have never once been tested for safety. 98% of Europe have banned water fluoridation based on negative health impact and on the ethical issue of not drugging people against their will. Our government is refusing to listen to the latest research of the damaging effects on fluoride. Recent studies have linked it to a lowering of the IQ of young children. Fluoride is linked to neurological disease and Ireland has twice the global average of neurological disease. I became interested in this issue as I had suffered from depression for over 4 years. On the advice of a nutritional therapist I was told to stop drinking fluoridated water as it was affecting my thyroid function which is crucial for mental health. After 4 months of not drinking fluoridated water and taking supplements to detox my body from fluoride I got better. This is why I feel so passionately about this issue as there are so many people in this country suffering from depression.
