Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Henry Rotich: We call on you to publish government contracts!

Government transparency is key as is accountability to its citizenry.

The Kenyan government is signing off on a lot of deals with both local and international companies but the public, to whom the government is accountable, has no clue whatsoever as to what entails these contracts.

Government contracts are public documents and the presumption is for them to be published. We need such key knowledge to be shared since it is fundamental in encouraging firm participation in government procurement and regulating the government's expenditure.

This is a petition to Mr Henry Rotich, the Treasury Cabinet Secretary to publish procurement contracts from all government corporations and county governments on the Kenya Open Data Initiative.
