United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon: Pressure Israel to allow family visits to Palestinian political prisoners
As Israel continues its policy of mass detention and imprisonment against Palestinians and the numbers of political prisoners continues to increase at an alarming rate, we, people of conscience from around the world, call on the you in your capacity as United Nations Secretary-General, to pressure the Israeli occupation to allow for regular, unrestricted family visits every two weeks, in line with Israel's obligations under international law. It is clear that unless enough pressure is brought on the Israeli occupation it will continue with its systematic human rights violations against all Palestinian political prisoners. Some family members have not seen their imprisoned relatives in years. Enough is enough, it is time for all family visits, without exception or restriction, to resume.
