Mohammad Ali Taheri, the spiritual intellectual leader has been imprisoned, and prosecuted by the Iranian government for his beliefs for over eight years. He is the founder of the "Erfan Halgheh” doctrine, a spiritual movement in Iran.

He found many followers after helping people to get away from superstition, and to have good mental health. After rapidly gaining followers, and popularity in a highly theocratic country, he was arrested and charged with serious crimes.

Any crimes committed against the state (especially ideological crimes of this nature) are considered incredibly serious in Iran.

Mr. Taheri’s treatment in prison is often cited by the United Nations, US Department of State and the International Amnesty Board when highlighting Iranian human rights violations.

He is not only a well known spiritual leader, but an example for the need for basic human rights around the world.

So far, absolutely nothing has worked. There’s no amount of begging, pleading or negotiating we can do by ourselves at this point…
