University of Miami: We call on you to expel Angela Cameron's rapist and assailant before he graduates on May 8, 2015

On April 11th, 2014 my world was turned upside down when I was raped by my scene partner for my acting class. As a result, I have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, severe depression, anxiety, and chronic pain from physical trauma. A piece of my T7 vertebrae has been cracked off and a disk is protruding causing spinal stenosis plus my pelvis is misaligned. I have flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks, and I have not slept through a night since it happened. I reported my rape to the Dean of Student’s Office at the University of MIami and South Miami PD. The police were not much help. The investigating officer looked at me and said “You realize this isn’t rape because you know the person right?” I decided to press charges through the school in the form of a disciplinary hearing which was to determine if my scene partner had violated the Student Code of Conduct. At the hearing, the Dean found him “responsible” of rape/sexual assault and intimate partner violence. When the dean read the responsible verdict a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Finally, I thought I was going to get justice. Unfortunately, my rapist’s only sanction was a one semester suspension.
