Uphold religious tolerance in Maldives!

Assalamu Alaikum Brothers and Sisters in Islam,
Being a minority in Sri Lanka we are treated with dignity and respect by an outstanding majority of our non Muslim brothers and sisters. We even get religious holidays and time off to attend Jummah. When hate groups incite intolerance against us the moderate non Muslims stand up for us.Now its our turn. Lets stand up for the religious rights of non Muslims in Maldives and other Muslim nations.
Islam since its inception has been a religion of peace and tolerance. It is our religious obligation to preserve true Islam to remind our fellow Muslims of these basic concepts and strive against injustice. If we don't, all that the Islamophobics say becomes true.
The Quran says about none muslims "Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion. you shall have your religion and I shall have my religion" (109)
Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) said “Beware! Whoever is cruel and hard on a non-Muslim minority, or curtails their rights, or burdens them with more than they can bear, or takes anything from them against their free will; I (Prophet Muhammad) will complain against the person on the Day of Judgment.” (Abu Dawud)
The Charter of Medina the magna cartar of Muslims states"Non-Muslim members have equal political and cultural rights as Muslims. They will have autonomy and freedom of religion"
These are but a few from hundreds of examples promoting tolerance in Islam.
We must act to protect Islam and to help others Muslims and non Muslims. Lets not lay on the wayside and whine about being being misunderstood, misquoted and misinterpreted. We have a chance to set the record strait. Remember that "Allah does not change the state of people unless they change what is within themselves" (Quran -13:11)
