Valve
has posted a statement about CS:GO gambling and steam OpenID API use the
13th of July
. This statement, present all the gambling and betting CS:GO website as illegal.
Today (07/20/2016) Valve posted a new statement about this situation which follows a new CS:GO scam scandal from James "PhantomL0rd" Varga, who is famous on Twitch user
In this statement, which is available on Twitter, Valve presents a list of website which are presented as gambling website. CSGOLounge is in the list.
Valve is misunderstanding the difference between Gambling and Betting , which are different.
The CSGOLounge website, one of the most known website, if not the most important and known from the community since the website welcomes over 10.000 visitors everyday , is making, the pro scene one of the most interesting in the e-sport community.
After, the closing of this website (if it happends) the viewer amount will drop in a free fall .
If the viewer amounts drop, the sponsors will go away, and by this, professional players wouldn't get paid enough to live of the game they all love.
For a game which keeps going on, keeps the excitement, and for one of the most interesting scene of e-sport, Valve has to make an exception.
Thank you.
