Dear Mr Minister, the decision to abolish Latin from the National Examinations for admission to higher education is wrong, unscientific and unprogressive. It causes a deadly blow to classical studies in Greece and leads to further degradation of the quality of studies at the Greek Lykeion.
We urge you for the revocation of this decision, the restoration of Latin to its previous position and the enhancement of Latin teaching at the Greek Lykeion.
