We, the undersigned, attest to the reports created by Diversify Canterbury High School, which call for the comprehensive inclusion of all Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latinx, Middle Eastern, and North African students contributions in all subjects. We believe that education provides tools for success, and that students of various intersectional identities should have equal access to the opportunities available at Canterbury High School. However, systemic racism within Canterbury is causing a disparity in access to an equitable education.
By signing this petition, we stand with Diversify Canterbury High School and all other signees in calling upon Canterbury’s administration to create an accountable and anti-racist space. This petition will be included in letters sent to the various Canterbury High School Arts programs and the Canterbury High School Administration to showcase the demand for Canterbury High School to be an accountable and anti-racist space.
