, Dear FIVB,
We, the global community of international volleyball, players, coaches, officials, sponsors and supporters around the world deeply condemn the barbaric and horrific Russian attack on Ukraine.
As much as politics should never be linked with sports, this time the case reached far beyond politics. War is not politics, war is genocide. People die and suffer upon Russian aggression. We cannot pretend it does not affect us. We cannot play and watch our beloved game being played when our fellows are being killed, mutilated and expelled from their homes.
Please act. Please ban Russian national team and Russian clubs from international volleyball. Please do it immediately. It is our moral obligation to show Russian people that their government is guilty of genocide and pushing its own nation towards isolation. In every way possible.
World Championships 2022 cannot be held in Russia and with any links to Russia.
