Stop The Royal Tour TV Series

We are Maasai elders from Northern Tanzania. On April 1, 2022 the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), with nearly 350 member stations around the United States of America, is planning to broadcast a series called “The Royal Tour” by American journalist Peter Greenberg. The series is partly about Ngorongoro and the Maasai as well as Tanzanite gemstone. The film fuels the plan by the Tanzanian state to forcefully evict us from our ancestral land. The series, with racist contents, if broadcast will fan the genocide.

Kindly support us to stop this dangerous film. It compromises the lives of over 70,000 Maasai in Ngorongoro and additional others in Loliondo. Recently, more than 3 million Avaaz members rallied behind our call! Together, we asked President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania to stop the eviction. But she is not listening. She is ignoring the voices.

"The Royal Tour" will whitewash the forceful eviction. We need to put more pressure! Join us now – to ask Jessica Rosenworcel, Chair of Federal Communication Commission, to intervene on our behalf. To stop PBS aggression as we deal with President Hassan!
