Due to recent unprecedented events in relation to Covid-19 it has resulted in the university cancelling the upcoming year abroad programs due to start this September and most likely the Semester Abroad programs due to start in January . Though this is no fault of the university itself we believe it’s still their duty to accommodate geography  students who wanted to pursue year abroad programmes as part of their degree. Therefore we propose an option which serves the interest of the student body, one that seems very viable an option and one that yields less hassle and easier organisation than scrambling together an attempt at running the semester abroad options on the back end of a Pandemic.Further to this an additional year abroad will give the full year abroad experience may of us were hoping for instead of a shorter duration such as the semester and reduce any complications with a heavier weighted degree in 3rd year if semester abroad programs were run. We hope the university is able to see this situation for what it is and accommodate our student body providing an amazing experience still to be had in the midst of such an awful situation. Thankyou.
