THIS PETITION calls on the Reform leader to open the books on the purchase of his Clacton residence.
Farage claimed he’d bought the property but the deeds show it’s owned by his French girlfriend.
Was this just a ruse to save Farage more than £40,000 in stamp duty tax?
Farage can answer this allegation by allowing journalists and Parliamentary watchdogs to inspect the records of the purchase.
The estate agents’ correspondence and the conveyancing documents will show exactly what happened.
We call on Farage to make these available to the House of Commons Commissioner for Standards and the Committee on Standards.
The MPs’ code of conduct stresses the importance of “openness” and “honesty”:
— “holders of public office should act and take decisions in an open and transparent manner”.
— “information should not be withheld from the public unless there are clear and lawful reasons for so doing.”
— “holders of public office should be truthful”.
We say it’s time for Farage — who says he’s going to be Britain’s next Prime Minister — to step up to the mark.
