Would you try to rescue a child if it cost you 17 years in prison?

This worldwide petition calls for Wilfred Wong and
co-defendants to be immediately and unconditionally released. Prison should be
for child sex abusers, not citizens who attempted to rescue a child from ritual
abuse. The sentences against Wilfred Wong and co-defendants are excessive and
hugely disproportionate. They have already been in prison since 2020.
So who is Wilfred Wong? Why does he need our help? What is Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA)?
Wilfred Wong is a former U.K. barrister and, for 29 years, has been a human rights activist and strong advocate for Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) survivors.
In 2020, he was imprisoned for 17 years along with five others for attempting to help a mother rescue her young child from alleged Satanic Ritual Abuse, which was purportedly committed by the father and others known to the father. The media portrayed Wilfred and co-defendants (who state they were rescuing a child) as criminals but failed to mention important details that led up to their desperate actions. The initial investigating police officer who was working with the child appeared to believe the young child’s disclosures, as there was plenty of material supplied by the child that seemed to indicate that this young boy was in serious danger. Some of this material consisted of video interviews with the boy, 400 pages of the boy’s disclosures and concerning drawings made by the child, which were analysed by a qualified art therapist and were, in her expert opinion, indicative of abuse. To everyone’s astonishment, the mother was accused of coaching the child! He was immediately placed in a foster home, soon to be put back into the care of the man he had accused of hurting him and of whom he was reportedly terrified. This is when the mother approached Wilfred Wong and four others for help. Due to reasons given and much evidence available, they wholeheartedly believed that the child was in serious danger and that they could no longer rely on the authorities to protect the child. In desperation to keep him safe, they decided to take matters into their own hands and take the child from the foster carer before he could be returned to his alleged abuser.

The main issue identified by victims who report Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) is that they are not believed due to the outlandishness of their claims; however, too many victims from different parts of the world have come forward about this form of abuse for it to be dismissed. As recently as November 2023, eight out of 11 accused members of a Satanic Ritual Child Abuse ring were found guilty of abusing children in crimes described as “plunging the depths of human depravity."
"Over a two-month trial at Glasgow High Court last year, jurors heard horrifying details of their crimes, including the attempted murder of a girl who was put in a microwave, forced to eat dog food, and hung by her clothes from a nail, as well as being chased by people wearing a devil mask on various occasions between 2015 and 2019.”

Very important to note: The England Metropolitan Police Service describes Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) on their website as “abuse which is carried out in the name of ‘Satan’ and may have links with cults. The Metropolitan Police further state on this website: “From our own experience and in consultation with communities, we know that this kind of abuse is under-reported.”

The sentences handed down by Judge Nicola Jones to Wilfred and the co-defendants are harsh, excessive, and completely disproportionate for the following reasons:
1. Nobody was physically hurt in the commission of the offense.
2. Many who have physically hurt others in the commission of their offenses have received sentences that were far more lenient than those imposed on Wilfred Wong and his co-defendants
Please see the following links for irrefutable evidence of the above. This small sample includes an unduly lenient sentence given by the same Judge Nicola Jones, who presided over the Wong and co-defendants’ case.
These lenient sentences were imposed despite previous admissions of “a number of offenses relating to making and distributing indecent images of children, causing a child to engage in a sexual act, and voyeurism."

The following link includes several case summaries that show that, despite previous convictions and physical harm done, the sentences given were extremely lenient—in sharp contrast to the harshness and severity of the sentences imposed on Wong and co-defendants.

3. All the defendants in the Wong case are essentially first-time offenders, but this has not been properly considered in the sentences given. Instead, they have been treated, in effect, as though they were repeat offenders, which they are not.
Please note: All except one of Wilfred Wong’s co-defendants have no previous convictions.
The exception is one whose previous convictions were of an altogether different nature from the matter she was convicted for in this case.
4. Wilfred Wong and co-defendants all genuinely and for good reason believed that they were rescuing a child from severe sexual abuse, torture, and possibly even death.
Thank you for your time. Please share this petition far and wide.
