P.S!! Pls do not use this petition to harass administrators, principals, or teachers at my school. This is not their faults and they are only following the rules they were given. I would just like to use this petition to prove a point, and to maybe help stop this harrassment me and some folks have been receiving. I am probably going to show this petition to the board of education if possible, so please do not think I'm using this petition in any way to harm people. X(
Recently there have been problems at school for spiky chokers, skirts, and shorts. People seem to be angry about not being able to wear hats while we can wear jewelry to school.
Unfortunately the dress code has been changed and we are no longer allowed to wear spikes on our jewelry. Today I got dress coded for a mini, black dress, and my spiky choker that I have been wearing for a month of going to school now. No teacher ever said anything about it until now, and I have recently found out that groups of kids have been complaining about my outfits, calling me "outrageous" and unfair. This doesn't just happen to me, but it happens to other people as well.
We have experienced a lot of harrassment from students in our school as well. We've been barked at, bothered, and even physically touched by the people who have a problem with our outfits. A girl even had her choker yanked off of her and it really made her upset.
Today after getting dresscoded, I realized that school cares more about my outfits than my education. I missed an entire math lesson because of a write up for my outfit that I was not aware of. I am not a trouble maker at school at all, so this really hurt my feelings. It was so outrageous that I had to sit in an office while my math lesson was going on, and when I had gotten back I didn't understand anything that was going on. My point is, is we should not be getting pulled out of class lessons just to be told that our dresses/skirts/shorts are too short for learning.
So if u would like, I would like for any of u to sign this petition to show the board of education how many people care about this situation. Thank you very much and I appreciate it. <3
