stop neonicotinoids harming our bees

Neonicotinoids are long lasting systemic insecticides that even in minute concentrations can disorientate bees. Harmful effects have been measured in bumblebees and honeybees, our two principal pollinators and may contribute to colony collapse disorder in honeybees. When washed into watercourses insect life is damaged and fish populations suffer as the whole eco-system is affected. Honerbees are already suffering severely from the varroa mite and the added use of the neonics will spell their demise. We need to ban the neonics now.
