I wish to move the Avaaz community away from Whatsapp chat and onto a safer alternative.
I'm a data privacy campaigner from Ireland. I'm a big believer in keeping software open-source and free. That way everyone knows who is doing what - with your personal data.
Big Tech can no longer be trusted to respect the rights of individuals in Europe or globally. Although Whatsapp claims to be end-to-end encrypted. This is very difficult to verify independently.
Let's switch to a safer chat software based on the Matrix protocol. Independently verified and open-source. To switch, simply download the open-source & free Element chat app. And use this for Avaaz communications instead.
This petition hopes to gain the attention of the Avaaz leadership and encourage them to make this switch in the best interests of their community.
