Figaro's barbershop is a man-only barbershop in Lisbon, Portugal.

It makes sense, as (most) women do not have beard.
Why would they want to go to a barbershop?

What does not make sense is the way they prohibit women to enter the premises .

Yes, that is right.

If you are a man going for a stroll with your wife and (female) baby , they both can't wait in the barbershop because that is "distracting for the other male customers/barbers".

If your grandson wants to have a haircut, grandmother has to wait outside because "men don't feel comfortable to talk about certain topics when women are around".

We are in the 21st century and such behaviour has to stop. No discrimination based on sex is allowed in Europe.

It is unconstitutional and illegal according to the equality principle, in portuguese law nr 14/2008 of 12 March which prohibits and punishes discrimination based on sex in access to goods and services.

Sign the petition if you have had enough of these man of the "old-school" and want them to change their policy. http://www.figaroslisboa.com/
