Mark Knight, Phil Gardner, Herald Sun Editor
On January 27th, Herald Sun Cartoonist Mark Knight published the above racist cartoon in the Melbourne Herald Sun.

The cartoon states "Geez, if the Aboriginals had've put up a fight like this in 1788 we might not bloody well be here celebrating Australia Day...!" This is extremely racist and is in extremely bad taste the day after one of the most traumatising yearly celebrations for Aboriginal Australian people.

Newspapers, their editors, and even their cartoonists have a responsibility to improve Australia's racial situation -- not deteriorate it.

Please sign here to request the Cartoonist Mark Knight and the Editor Phil Gardner issue an apology to all Australians who this cartoon has offended.
