Η Σίφνος είναι ένα από τα ομορφότερα και πιο καλοδιατηρημένα νησιά της Ελλάδας, στο συγκρότημα των Κυκλάδων. Οι Καμάρες, εκτός από λιμάνι της Σίφνου, είναι και ένας υπέροχος τόπος αναψυχής και διακοπών : διαθέτει μια καταπληκτική αμμώδη παραλία, (η οποία επί πολλά χρόνια βραβεύεται με τη Γαλάζια Σημαία της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης) , γραφικές ταβέρνες και μπαράκια δίπλα στη θάλασσα, μαγαζιά με ντόπια προϊόντα, περιπάτους σε εκκλησάκια και μία από τις εντυπωσιακότερες δύσεις ηλίου στην Ελλάδα.
Εδώ και πολλά χρόνια αυτός ο διπλός χαρακτήρας των Καμαρών, ως λιμανιού και ως τόπου αναψυχής , συνδυάζεται άψογα, κάνοντας τις Καμάρες ελκυστικές και επιθυμητές για όλους, αλλά και συμβάλλοντας στην καλή εικόνα ολόκληρου του νησιού.
Τα χρόνια πέρασαν και το λιμάνι των Καμαρών χρειάζεται κάποιες βελτιώσεις, ώστε να συνεχίσει να λειτουργεί προς όφελος των κατοίκων του, των ταξιδιωτών και των παραθεριστών. Η Περιφέρεια Νοτίου Αιγαίου εκπόνησε και προωθεί ένα σχέδιο το οποίο είναι, δυστυχώς, πολλαπλά καταστροφικό .
Αντί να αναζητηθεί μία λύση ήπιας παρέμβασης που να προσφέρει την ζητούμενη λειτουργικότητα και που να σέβεται και να διατηρεί τον ιδιαίτερο χαρακτήρα και την πολυσύνθετη λειτουργία του τόπου, το προτεινόμενο σχέδιο προβλέπει ένα τερατώδες λιμάνι με τεράστιες επιφάνειες τσιμέντου το οποίο διαλύει και υποβαθμίζει όλες τις άλλες λειτουργίες που καθιστούν τις Καμάρες τόπο άξιο να τον ζεις, να τον θυμάσαι και να επιστρέφεις σε αυτόν. Συγχρόνως, το σχέδιο αυτό εγγράφει ολόκληρη την Σίφνο στην καταστροφική και αναχρονιστική προοπτική του μαζικού τουρισμού , κατάρα από την οποία πολλά μέρη σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο παλεύουν τώρα να απαλλαγούν.
Υπογράφοντας το κείμενο αυτό, ζητάμε να μην προχωρήσει η εφαρμογή του καταστροφικού αυτού σχεδίου για το λιμάνι των Καμαρών . Να εκπονηθεί ένα καινούργιο σχέδιο στηριγμένο σε τεχνογνωσία που ασπάζεται την λογική και την φιλοσοφία της ήπιας, βιώσιμης και αειφόρου ανάπτυξης, το οποίο θα σέβεται και θα διατηρεί τον χαρακτήρα και την παράδοση των Καμαρών αλλά και ολόκληρης της Σίφνου.

Save Sifnos! Save Kamares!
Sifnos , in the Cyclades, is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved islands in Greece. Kamares, as well as being the port of Sifnos , is also a wonderful leisure and holiday destination in itself: it has an amazing sandy beach (which has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag for several years running), quaint tavernas and bars to enjoy a meal or a drink by the sea, little shops selling local products, short and longer trails to churches and other places of interest, and one of the most enchanting sunsets in Greece.
For many years now, this dual nature of Kamares, as a port and a destination for leisure , has been in perfect balance, making Kamares attractive and desirable to everyone, as well as contributing to the island’s overall good image.
The years have passed, and the port of Kamares needs some improvements, so that it may continue to operate in the best interests of its residents, travellers and tourists. In response, the Region of the South Aegean has developed and put forward a plan that is, sadly, catastrophic on several levels .
Instead of seeking and developing a mild intervention plan, which will provide the necessary functionality, while respecting and preserving the unique character versatility of the location, the proposed plan entails the creation a monstrous port with vast concrete surfaces, which destroys and undermines all the other aspects that have so far made Kamares a place worth living in, remembering and returning to. At the same time, the plan in question enters the whole of Sifnos into the catastrophic and outdated prospect of mass tourism , a curse which many places around the world are now struggling to rid themselves of.
By signing this document, we ask that the implementation of this catastrophic plan for the port of Kamares does not go ahead , and that a new plan is developed, based on technical expertise that espouses the principles and philosophy of mild and sustainable development, which will respect and preserve the character and tradition of Kamares, and the whole of Sifnos.

Sifnos, dans les Cyclades, est l’une des îles les plus belles et les mieux préservées de la Grèce. Kamarès, le port , est également un ravissant lieu de vie et de loisir qui a toujours accueilli de nombreux vacanciers : il jouit d’une très belle plage de sable (qui obtient chaque année le pavillon bleu attribué par l’ Union Européenne ), des cafés, bars et restaurants pittoresques, des commerces vendant des produits locaux, des chemins de promenades menant à quelques églises, et enfin, de l’un des plus beaux coucher de soleil du pays.
Depuis de nombreuses années, les deux dimensions de Kamarès - en tant que port et lieu de loisir à la fois - s’allient en harmonie, pour en faire un lieu attrayant aux yeux de tous les visiteurs, tout en contribuant à la bonne image de l’île.
Les années passant, il a été accordé que le port de Kamarès doit se soumettre à quelques travaux d’amélioration afin de continuer à être bénéfique à tous, aussi bien aux résidents qu’aux voyageurs et aux vacanciers. La région de l’Egée méridionale a malheureusement élaboré et promu un plan désastreux.
Au lieu de proposer un plan d’intervention modéré, développant les fonctionnalités du lieu, tout en respectant et préservant son caractère unique et sa polyvalence, le plan proposé vise à créer un port monstrueux. En effet, le plan prévoit la construction de larges zones bétonnées qui mettent en périltous les aspects faisant de Kamarès un lieu où il fait bon vivre, dont on aime se souvenir et où l’on revient. Enmême temps, le plan inscrit Sifnos dans la triste perspective du tourisme de masse , une pesrpective aujourd’hui dépassée, une malédiction contre laquelle luttent actuellement de nombreux lieux de tourisme dans le monde.
En signant ce document, nous demandons la révocation de la mise en œuvre de ce plan désastreux pour le port de Kamarès et qu’un nouveau plan soit élaboré, fondé sur une expertise technique basée sur les principes et la philosophie qui conduisent au développement modéré et durable, respectant et préservant le caractère et la dimension traditionnelle de Kamarès et de l'ensemble de Sifnos.

Sifnos è una delle isole più belle e meglio conservate della Grecia, all'interno dell'arcipelago delle Cicladi. Kamares, oltre ad essere il porto di Sifnos , è anche un meraviglioso luogo per il tempo libero e la villeggiatura: gode di una meravigliosa spiaggia sabbiosa (ormai da anni premiata con la Bandiera Blu Europea) , pittoresche taverne e bar in riva al mare, negozi di prodotti locali, sentieri e passeggiate tra le tipiche chiesette ed offre uno dei tramonti più spettacolari di tutta la Grecia.
Per molti anni questo duplice carattere di Kamares, al contempo porto e luogo di svago , si è combinato perfettamente, rendendola luogo accogliente e affascinante per tutti ma, in particolare, contribuendo alla buona immagine di tutta l'isola di Sifnos.
Sono passati anni ed il porto di Kamares ha bisogno di alcuni miglioramenti per continuare ad operare a beneficio dei suoi residenti, viaggiatori e vacanzieri. La Provincia dell'Egeo Meridionale ha elaborato e sta ora promuovendo un progetto il quale, purtroppo, è disastroso su molteplici piani.
Invece di prediligere una soluzione a minimo impatto che si limiti a garantire la funzionalità richiesta, rispettando e preservando al contempo la natura e le complessità uniche del sito, il piano presentato prevede la realizzazione di un porto di dimensioni mostruose con la realizzazione di enormi aree in cemento le quali andranno a svalutare e sopprimere tutte le caratteristiche che hanno reso fino ad oggi Kamares un luogo degno di essere vissuto, ricordato ed in cui tornare. Allo stesso tempo, questo piano inserisce l'isola di Sifnos nella prospettiva devastante ed anacronistica del turismo di massa , maledizione contro la quale in molti altri luoghi del mondo si lotta ora per sbarazzarsene.
Firmando questa petizione, chiediamo che questo catastrofico piano per il porto di Kamares non venga portato avanti. Invitiamo lo sviluppo di un nuovo progetto basato sulle logiche e la filosofia dello sviluppo gentile e sostenibile del luogo, che rispetti e preservi il carattere e la tradizione di Kamares e dell'intera isola di Sifnos.

Die Kykladeninsel Sifnos ist eine der schönsten und am besten erhaltenen Inseln Griechenlands. Kamares ist nicht nur der Hafen von Sifnos , sondern auch ein wundervolles Erholungs- und Urlaubsziel: Es gibt einen herrlichen Sandstrand, welcher jedes Jahr mit der blauen Flagge der E.U. ausgezeichnet wird, malerische Tavernen und kleine Bars, Läden, die lokale Produkte verkaufen. Kamares ist auch Ausgangspunkt für schöne Spaziergänge zu kleinen Kirchen. Zudem kann man dort einen Sonnenuntergang, der zu den eindrucksvollsten Sonnenuntergängen in Griechenland gehört.
Seit vielen Jahren befindet sich Kamares in einem perfekten Gleichgewicht zwischen Hafen und Urlaubsziel. Diese Kombination macht Kamares für alle attraktiv und begehrenswert und trägt zum guten Gesamtbild der Insel bei.
Doch der Hafen von Kamares bedarf einiger Verbesserungen, damit er weiterhin im besten Interesse seiner Bewohner, Reisenden und Touristen betrieben werden kann. Die Verwaltung der Region der Südägäis hat einen Plan ausgearbeitet und vorgelegt, der möglicherweise auf mehreren Ebenen katastrophal ist.
Anstatt nach einem milden Interventionsplan zu suchen und diesen zu entwickeln, der die notwendige Funktionalität bietet und gleichzeitig die einzigartige Vielseitigkeit des Standorts respektiert und beibehält, zielt der vorgeschlagene Plan darauf ab, einen monströsen Hafen mit unglaublichen Betonflächen zu schaffen, welcher all die anderen Aspekte zerstört und unterminiert, die Kamares bisher zu einem Ort gemacht haben, an dem es sich lohnt, zu leben, sich an ihn zu erinnern und dorthin zurückzukehren. Gleichzeitig führt der fragliche Plan ganz Sifnos in die katastrophale und veraltete Perspektive des Massentourismus hinein, ein Fluch, den viele Orte auf der Welt derzeit zu beseitigen versuchen.
Durch die Unterzeichnung dieses Dokuments fordern wir, dass die Umsetzung dieses katastrophalen Plans für den Hafen von Kamares gestoppt wird. Es soll ein neuer Plan entwickelt werden, der auf technischem Fachwissen beruht, die Grundsätze und die Philosophie einer milden und nachhaltigen Entwicklung vertritt sowie vor allem den Charakter und die Tradition von Kamares und von ganz Sifnos respektiert und bewahrt.
