Stop the Refugee exclusion Bill C-31!

The conservative governement is trying to push through a Bill that legislates the detention of children and their families, that discriminates people based on their country of origin, that threatens deportation of refugee claimants and even accepted refugees! The bill also targets women rights as well as minority rights and criminalises refugees instead of protecting them! As if this wasn't bad enough, Bill C-31 gives the Immigration Minister extraordinary discretionary power and it will be at the tax payers expense.

This is a huge step backward for Canadian Immigration policies and many voices are uniting against this proposed bill including many politicians, lawyers, community organizations and activists. Bill C-31 does not respect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights nor the Refugee Convention signed by Canada. The conservative government has limited debate on the Bill C-31 and is trying to push it through as fast as possible. It is urgent that we ACT NOW before it's too late!
