Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
Over 960 people from the U.S.A., Canada, Japan, the Netherlands and around the world have signed our petition for the license renewal of WABG Radio (The Awesome AM 960).

Getting 960 people's signature was our goal. We are going to submit the petition result to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) together with other documents shortly.

Thank you very much for all your support. We really appreciate each and every one of you who signed. Please continue to support WABG Radio (The Awesome AM 960) with James Poe in Greenwood, Mississippi and worldwide online at www.awesomeam.com!

WABG Radio is a historic station in the cotton fields of the Mississippi Delta out on Money Road.  It is located less than a mile from blues man Robert Johnson's grave site. Since 2008 the station has been broadcasting "Blues, News, Interviews, Classic Rock, Blues and "Stuff".   As well as "Everything Mississippi".  The station is on AM 960 on your radio dial in Greenwood, Mississippi, U.S.A. and online at www.awesomeam.com.   The station has a mission to (i) promote and preserve the music of the Mississippi Delta, (ii) bring people of all races closer together and (iii) build a radio station that educates, informs and entertains.

WABG Radio has come under attack by a corporate out of state competitor who has filed a petition with the FCC to deny WABG Radio's license renewal. This direct competitor is buying up stations in the Mississippi Delta and James Poe, the Owner and General Manager of "The Awesome A-M" declined to sell his station so they have petitioned the FCC to deny his license.

If you love independent radio, local artists' music being played and interviews with superstars as well as local folks, please support this venture. If you have listened to WABG Radio and liked what you heard, either online or on the dial, please sign the petition so that the FCC will allow this community service to continue. We need your support immediately. Please sign our petition and help keep independent community radio and the Blues alive!  Thank you.
