Iran: No to rape! Who killed Zahra Navidpoor?

Zahra Navidpoor, 28-year-old girl from the city of Malekan, Iran, who four years ago was a victim of rape by Salman Khodadadi, member of Iran’s Islamic Assembly, on her own and courageously stood up against rape. She started a movement, whose price unfortunately she paid with her life.
We have the responsibility not to let the voice of this protest to be silenced. We submit our indictment against the rape of women, which under the Islamic regime is legal and regarded as divine and in accord with the edicts of Islam. No one has the right to sexually assault women.
We the undersigned demand to know why Zahra Navidpoor died. We strongly condemn the complicity of the various departments of the Islamic Republic, from the Islamic Assembly to the Government and the Guardian Council, with the assailant Salman Khodadadi, and want all aspects of this matter revealed.
We state that the movement that Zahra Navidpoor launched should be widened so that all women who under whatever circumstances have been victims of sexual assault and rape may speak up and submit their indictments against the regime of rape and torture.
