Made in China -- South African foreign policy

To President Zuma and the Department of International Relations:

As concerned citizens, we call on you to give the Dalai Lama a visa to visit South Africa. We also ask that you tell parliament and the Republic why he has been denied visas on three occasions in the past.

Made in China -- South African foreign policy

Our President has just “spat in Mandela’s face” in refusing to allow the Dalai Lama to come to a meeting in Cape Town. Right now, it feels like South Africa’s foreign policy is being made in China and, unless we act today, Zuma could continue to roll over to the demands of Beijing.

This is the third time the Dalai Lama has been refused a visa. But we now have a real chance to do something about it. Archbishop Tutu has denounced the refusal and Parliament member Stevens Mokgalapa has said he will take our call to parliament and demand the President grant a visa.
Then the President will be legally bound to give answers to MPs.

South Africans have expressed outrage before over the government’s treatment of the Dalai Lama. But we have been ignored. If enough of us come together now we can take the voice of the people to Parliament and demand an official response. Click the link on the right to sign the petition and demand the President grant a visa for the Dalai Lama.
