----TRIGGER WARNING - This message contains potentially
disturbing descriptions of abusive, racist sexual violence in pornography. ----

The websites Ghetto Gaggers, Face F***ing (formerly called
Facial Abuse), Latina Throats (formerly called Latina Abuse) and others have been produced for over 10 years by individuals who profit from extreme racist degradation and sexual violence against vulnerable human beings. The sex workers who end up on these websites often end up crying, shaking, or otherwise showing signs of serious trauma and the abuse continues. Many women can't endure the experience and "tap out" and are given a small fraction of the contracted fee for a film that will still be distributed online.

As someone labeled male and white in this society, I’m
extremely concerned with how poisonous and subtly degrading this material is to our cultural commons. I'm confident that most other white men would not find it acceptable that white men are abusing women of color and white women, creating new trauma and scratching the old, forcing sex on young sex workers, all in their name.

While contracts may have been signed before these filmed
assaults, you can't actually consent/contract yourself to be forced to do something in the future. Consent is given moment to moment. These films show men forcing sex on the sex workers involved and violently repressing their attempts to breathe, take a break, stop the camera etc. From then on it becomes explicitly forced, as it appears, and thus not consensual. The websites brag about how they snag these
young, naïve, starry-eyed young women who have no idea what they’re getting into. From a little research you can discover that some porn talent agencies will set up shoots for girls who have not been shown what’s about to happen to
them, or even told the name of the website/film and the abuse producers coax them into agreeing to sign a contract, playing nice and even telling them there’s a “safe word” that will be respected.

The sexist, racist, capitalist history we are living out every day sets the stage for atrocious acts like this, but the perpetrators of these acts (and their associates and customers) are responsible for the damage they are causing. WE have to decide what kind of culture to build and share – do we want one that de-humanizes women and trans people, especially people of color, for centuries and then tells them they are free and continues to attack and exploit them? The struggle for free culture is a long and uncertain one, but this particular poison can be addressed quickly and directly.

There are many reasons to fight these manifestations of hate
and trauma. Even if there was not forced sex happening in these films, the creators of this content have made niches for the degradation and attacks on Black women and the attacks on Latina women, as well as Black men attacking Black women. Not surprisingly, these producers use their diverse forms of brutality in their own defense – they’re not racist, they’ll abuse any woman to make a profit. I have seen some of these films myself and it was the most actively aggressive and blatant racism I’ve seen. The fact that are multiple websites with multiple forms of ethnic degradation and misogyny only multiplies the reasons for bringing this operation down.

Finally, on a personal note - I am definitely not anti-porn
in general. However, this porn seems like the opposite of respectful, non-oppressive, sex-positive porn. They are setting the standard of normalizing non-consensual, racist, humiliating sex in porn and surely for some people, in their own bedroom. Millions of young people look at internet pornography and many are given their education in sex from videos, pictures, and words that define what "normal" and
"acceptable" sexual relations are. It's up to all of us to determine those standards.

We who sign this pact to act say that this "porn" is not legitimate entertainment and commit to help stop it. This is not a petition addressed to any powerful individual or individuals. It is a pact addressed to all who see it. In signing this statement, we are joining in a shared commitment to work against pornography that is non-consensual and violently racist and misogynistic. We commit to opposing this new variety of internet porn that seeks to traumatize and humiliate its unfortunate participants whose need for survival is being exploited with sexual violence. I’m calling on white men in particular to step up however we can and say enough is enough!

There are many ways to act against this kind of organized
torture, from exposing the perpetrators to supporting sex workers in organizing for power. Here are some ideas for action:
