All vehicles, excluding public transport, emergency services, council vehicles and those with exceptional reasons, will be off the roads for the day.

Perhaps this could be combined with a "Monthly Public Transport Day"? Government, it´s Time to Act

Why
Car emissions are a major contributor to air pollution, which affects people's quality of life and health.

How
Highlighting the third Wednesday of every month through the year as UK´s Monthly Car-Free Work-Days, 16/9, 21/10, 18/11 etc.

#CarFreeDaysUK will:
- Encourage people to find alternatives to using their car
- Make the streets more accessible and open them up for other uses #placemaking
- Raise awareness of emissions and air pollution
- Help make earth a safer and greener planet

Cities across the world have successfully held car-free days, in Indonesia, Paris, Dubai, 埔里無車日 (Puli), Bristol, Brussels and Vancouver etc, enabling people to enjoy a day with lower emissions and traffic.

The Car-Free Work-Day Bloc participated in the National Climate March, London to make the link between climate change and switching to zero carbon fuels . Put the climate on the agenda ahead of the 2015 General Elections and the December 2015 Paris United Nations COP21 climate talks.

TARGETING THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Our approach to this is most important

Four great reasons to promote this Car-Free Days Campaign;
1 Switching to zero carbon fuels Leave fossil fuels behind
a Bring sustainable Mega Cities and Urban Dwellers to the news feed
b Slow down, Time to Act or meet the consequences of the BAU Trajectory
c Investing in Car-Free Days is a no-brainer

Thank you!
