FIFA: Donate all the proceedings from one football match to anti rhino poaching

The world without a rhino is like a rhino without a horn.

These majestic creatures are in the middle of the biggest battle for their lives ever. They are being killed at alarming rates across the world. Last year the official number of rhinos poached in South Africa alone was close to 950, more than 150 from the previous year. The latest official statistics state that the number if rhinos killed this year in South Africa alone is nearing 22! No one really knows exactly how many have been killed. The IUCN states that at least 745 were killed in the whole of Africa in 2012. If we do not do something big soon, they will disappear!

However there is hope. A lot of hope: we CAN make a difference. There are many people and organisations around the world who are making a difference. People who are making a stand against the poachers and saving hundreds of rhinos. Just to name a few; savetherhino.org, stoprhinopoaching.com, local authorities across the world, as well as very dedicated and motivated individuals everywhere. Peter Moll, with his Stand Up Shout Out (SUSO) movement, is just one of the few extraordinary youths in Kenya who is making inspirational strides towards ensuring future generations will be able to see the glory of rhinos and elephants alike in Africa.

There IS hope.

We CAN make a difference.

And we WILL make a difference.

All we need to do is come together and fight this evil as one. This is a problem we all have to face. These incredible creatures need us. They need us to love them, they need us to appreciate them. They need us to save them. For us. For the future. For them. We can do this. All we need is hope and a bit of effort. Come together. Come join us and help save the rhino. And all other creatures of this world which deserve the life they were given.

We have been given the privilege of being the most developed and powerful creatures on this incredible planet. Let alone the privilege to live here. We have been given the power to make a difference. So let’s do it.

FIFA and football in general generates so much money; the advertising, the deals, the salaries. There is so much money in football.

All I ask is for the proceedings of just 1 match to be donated to the fight against rhino poaching.
