Federal Trade Commission: Vote to change the Consumer Review Fairness Act

The Consumer Review Fairness Act, while it protects people's ability to share in any forum their honest opinions about a business' products & services, it also enables haters, competitors, competitor's friends, or people that have never had any services or purchased any products from our business, to post negative reviews with the intention of hurting the business.

As business owners, we all have been in a situation like that where a fake review posted on Yelp, Google, Trip Advisor, Facebook, and many other similar services, websites, forums, etc. had nothing to do with the quality of our products or the services offered, or it was posted intentionally as a defamation, a way to hurt our business.
While we want to support the Consumer Review Fairness Act, we believe that a better way of submitting online reviews for products and services is necessary.

We believe that a better way of submitting a review online, will serve better consumers and business owners. We want a fair review submission system, in accordance with Better Business Bureau guidelines, where the consumers can submit a positive or a negative review, or even a complain against a business, but they are required to enter their true identity and in case of a complaint they have to provide proof of purchase. That way we can be protected from fake/malicious reviews by competitors or people that have never used our services or purchased any of our products.

We also have the right to protect ourselves, our businesses and our families who depend on us, from people that intentionally trying to harm our business because they found a way to do it.

Mistakes happen and we don't deny any of them. We're there, to work with our customers directly and resolve any issues to their satisfaction.

We love what we do, and we do our best to serve our customers daily. We just want a better review submission system where reviews can be verified and we'll always do our best to resolve the issues, but we also need an option to fight any reviews that cannot be verified and mark them as fake or have them removed.
