International Court of Justice
In March of 2011, peaceful protests against the dictator Al-Assad started in the city of Daraa. These evolved into a nationwide protest against President Al-Assad. The President responded to these cries for freedom by sending his military against these civilians. He began ordering his men to kidnap women and children, shoot at demonstrators, shell towns, and bomb homes. Cities, towns, homes, stores, and places of worship were shelled out of existence. Cities, such as Homs, Moadamiya, Aleppo, and Ghouta were held under siege without food or basic materials.

In August of 2013, a chemical attack took place in Ghouta, on the outskirts of Damascus. United Nations reported that surface to surface rockets were used which contained the nerve agent Sarin. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed 500+ deaths in this chemical attack. However, this was not the first or the only time that chemical weapons were used. They were used several times during this conflict.

Recently, about 55,000+ pictures of about 11,000 bodies have surfaced from a photographer nicknamed "Caesar" who worked in the Syrian regime's military police. His job was to take pictures of the regime's prisoners who were "terminated" or killed. The 55,000+ pictures were of tortured or starved bodies of men with only number as identification. The bodies showed not only signs of starvation but also signs of strangulation, burns, and brutal beatings. This is not only evidence of the "systematic killing" of prisoners by the Syrian regime, but it is also more war crimes to add to Assad's growing list.

Since the start of this revolution until now (March 2011-January 2014), there have been 130,000+ documented deaths, 575,000+ injured, and 5 million refugees who have escaped into nearby countries. Please help us in the fight for justice to have the war criminal Bashar Al-Assad trialed and executed for what he has done to the country of Syria.

Thank you.
