Recently a spate of seal deaths has taken place around the Irish coast.A significant number has shown signs of having been deliberately killed. The Irish government has failed so far to investigate the deaths of the protected species .

There is a need for a humane solution to situations where seals and fisheries have priorities in common. If nothing is done the seal will just "disappear" from Irish waters.
