India is on almost every tv shows/movies highest pirated downloads list. Is it your fault? It must be. And you should now feel guilty and go cry 'Y I DEED DIS?' in a corner. If you think depriving yourself of quality international entertainment content is fine, then yes, go ahead and cry. But really, is it your fault? No it isn't. Then whose fault is it? It's CBFC [Censor Board] fault. This country of ours is changing, growing and evolving. The 5% urban population who are interested in these shows are higher in numbers than most countries entire numbers. International production houses are very interested to come in and start showcasing their content. What's stop them? It's the filtering and altering of their content. And the viewers are willing and ready to pay up top buck for the content. We have one of the worst broadband standards in the world, and even then we are downloading massive amounts of content, cause we really need that intellectual stimulation which mainstream Indian television and cinema aren't able to provide us with. Yes, there is change(@STAR WORLD PREMIER HD) but what's the point of watching Two And A Half Men or Sons of Anarchy when it's censored, and censorship is not even on language, but on entire scenes. Yes, we have to deal with entire scenes being chopped off. Imagine a show like Games of Thrones being censored, it would be 10 minutes long and have absolutely no story line. We want the Censor Board to comprise of a panel which understands art, entertainment & the importance of certain scene in a show which makes the entire story come together. Maybe someone like Anuraag Kashyap (no he's not supporting us in anyway, we mentioned his name cause every movie he makes has a hell of a time during the censor test). And seriously, a love making scene or a word like 'fuck' will not end up starting riots in this country, they require much less than. And your kid already knows all this. You knew it at that age, and if she/he is really young, then wouldn't understand it anyway..and parental lock is also something which exists, please use it. You can help. Sign this petition and share it with everyone you know, cause our 42' Plasma screens are pretty useless if we can't watch 1080p Games of Throne or others without waiting for an entire day for it download on our terrible broadband connections.
