  • For 30 years the land owners have battled Calpe Council to try to build on this important archeological site. They have been offered alternative land, but have always rejected it as unsuitable. An apartment block on the beach is a much more attractive financial proposition.
  • The owners now hold Calpe to ransom: They have just won their case in the Madrid High Court to build. The Council will have to pay out 36 MILLION EUROS to stop them.
  • The owners must be aware that this site is unique.It was the Roman settlement that developed into Calpe town. The site is linked to the nearby Salinas.
  • Morally, the owners should gift the Los Baños Remains to the people, and work with the Council to develop the site. It could easily become a showcase Spanish attraction showing the link with the Romans, and the social history of it's people.
  • We all now need to speak out loudly and let the landowners, the Madrid High Court, and the Government know how we feel, before it is too late!
  • Together, let us try to keep Calpe special. A great place to live, and a great place to visit.


Por qué esto es importante?
  • Durante 30 años, los propietarios de la parcela donde están ubicados LOS BAÑOS DE LA REINA han litigado contra el Ayuntamientoo de Calpe para tratar de construir en este importante sitio arqueológico. Se les han ofrecido tierras alternativas, pero siempre las han rechazado por inapropiadas. Un bloque de apartamentos en la playa es una propuesta financiera mucho más atractiva para ellos.
  • Los propietarios ahora coaccionan a Calpe: recientemente ganaron su caso en el Tribunal Superior de Madrid para construir. El Consejo debe pagar 36 MILLONES DE EUROS para detenerlos.
  • Los propietarios deben saber que el sitio es único. El asentamiento se convirtió en la ciudad que es CALP, y está vinculada históricamente a las Salinas romanas cercanas.
  • Moralmente, los dueños deben de regalo el Los Baños se mantiene a la gente y trabajar con el Consejo para desarrollar el sitio. Fácilmente podría convertirse en un escaparate atractivo Español mostrando el vínculo con los romanos y la historia social de la gente.
  • Todos deberíamos hablar hacia fuera en voz alta y dejar que a los terratenientes, el Tribunal superior de Madrid, y el gobierno sabe cómo nos sentimos, antes de que sea demasiado tarde!
  • Juntos, intentemos mantener Calpe especial. Un gran lugar para vivir y un gran lugar para visitar.
