Minister of Environment: Stop the catching and killing of Mauritian beach dogs #SaveOurBeachDogs

A mass catch-and-kill is inhumane and NOT a solution to deal with the dog overpopulation in Mauritius. The only long-term solution is MASS-STERILISATION of dogs (and cats) and EDUCATION of owners. A street dog survey has been carried out and a plan submitted already for an island-wide registering, micro-chipping and sterilisation. This is the ONLY way to manage the dog population and we can start RIGHT NOW.
Let's not make the Mauritian dogs pay with their lives because of the ignorance and cruelty of their owners. Let's not add to the cruelty but be more compassionate. The world is watching us. #SaveOurBeachDogs
