President of India
Two sisters from Kolhapur, Renuka and Seema have been awarded death penalty. They will be the first women to be hanged in the history of our country.
The charge against them is that Renuka aged only 25 and Seema aged only 19 years then, along with their mother and Renuka’s husband, used to kidnap children and then murder them. Renuka’s husband Kiran Shinde turned approver during the proceedings and was acquitted!!!
The girls come from a poverty stricken background and belong to a scheduled tribe. They were abandoned by their father at a very young age.

we are extremely concerned that this case will set a precedent any many more women will now face the noose. What is the agency of these women?
A writ petition to seek stay and commute death penalty to life imprisonment for the two sisters is being filed in the Bombay High Court. We request your support to oppose death penalty in general and death penalty for women specifically.
