The Mauritian Government: The dogs of Mauritius

While recently visiting Mauritius, I was overwhelmed by the vast amount of stray dogs they have. The PAWS foundation is snowed under with the plight of sick, malnourished, mistreated and abandoned dogs but are endeavouring to instil their policy of "education', 'sterilization' and 'rehoming' into the Mauritian people.
The problem is that there is also a dark underbelly in operation to control the dog population, whose policy is 'catch and kill'. This method is disturbing and horrific and and carries an immense amount of suffering. This campaign is to urge the Mauritian Government to take a moral stance and deal with the stray dog population in a responsible and positive way, standing behind the PAWS foundation, supporting them and rewarding their gallant efforts with much needed funding.
