The Prime Minister of Australia, Tony Abbott
Our constitution protects the Australian people from forced medication from any Government. Our forefathers recognised this as an important basic right. Do you believe that this is a right worth protecting?

All medical procedures, which include vaccinations, come with both risks and benefits. Vaccination is a medical intervention which carries risks. So they may not be suitable for all people. It cannot be predicted who will be harmed by a vaccine and it cannot be guaranteed that those who have been vaccinated will not get infected or transmit infection. As such, the ethical principle of informed consent is a civil, human and parental right that must be protected.

At the moment, the vaccination schedule includes a number of different vaccines for parents to consider. This schedule is a 'one size fits all' approach. The entire schedule may not be appropriate for every individual. Variations to the schedule can be made by lodging a form (Conscientious Objector IMMU12) with the federal government.

The Australian Health Minister is currently considering measures that will penalise individuals for exercising their choices in relation to vaccination. But is imposing penalties the best way to address this complex issue?

A question for you to consider - the question is not just about your comfort level with today's vaccine schedule. The question is: will you support an enforceable sight-unseen future vaccination schedule? Are you certain you will be 100% comfortable with all future vaccines that are added to the childhood vaccination schedule? Do you support mandatory vaccination for any and all vaccines? Do you support the introduction of an adult schedule?
