When nature prospers we prosper.

However, current legislation has failed miserably in so many ways, that in the last 40 years we have extinguished fifty percent of the populations of all species on Earth.

Water pollution, overfishing, deforestation, the mass extinction of animal species, global warming are just some consequences that show us that harmony in nature is destabilized. Our laws treat nature as an object for human exploitation - like it once did with slaves, women and indigenous people - rather than a subject of the law with its own rights like people and corporations. That's why it is impossible for us citizens to protect nature using the law.

The laws we have are not enough to meet the challenges of our times. We need systemic transformation.

Recognizing the rights of nature is the first step making that transition so that humanity can flourish in harmony with nature - as part of nature.

Bolivia introduced the Universal Declaration of the Rights of Mother Earth for UN ratification in 2010.

Last December, after the disappointing discussions of the COP21, the UN General Assembly by consensus in resolution approved the concept of Earth Jurisprudence and has convened a forum of experts to advise them. This June in Mexico these world class experts will come together in an International Forum on the Rights of Nature in Mexico City.

¡We demand action!

Human rights and the rights of nature are two sides of the same coin .

60 elders and world Ancestral authorities, including the Pope have come together in the United Nations of Spirit to support this cause.
