“No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.”-Human Right 12: The Right to Privacy
This petition asks that the right include the freedom of the individual to live according to their choosing not only in private.
It further asks that the right to privacy include that the law must also respect the right of privacy unless it adversely affects society per se; and not law alone. In such a case the right to privacy must only be disregarded in proportion with the adverse effect on society; under the protection of the law.
The petition also asks for the right to privacy to be amended so as to keep up the pace with the spread of modern technology.
..............................................................................
This right must be elaborated upon to ultimately restrict the kind of data collected by companies (like Google, Facebook , telecom companies, etc.) It must also see that the collection of metadata is also a breach of an individual’s privacy.
This petition seeks that the right to privacy is amended so as to regard the intrusion upon privacy by laws, governments and companies with the pervasion of technology to be tantamount to the interference with his privacy, family, home and correspondence.
This petition seeks that the right to privacy is enforced so as to be restrictive and pertinent to the laws, governments and companies that now intrude upon this right to prevent the division of the people with its representatives in power.
This petition seeks that the right to privacy be made a substantive right so that it cannot be shirked and remains germane to the issues of law, security, commerce, technology and for the maintenance of basic human rights.
