It's important for us because we think that if people always fall in snowboard lessons and that if they spend all the time sitting in the snow instead of practicing, it's because the main way of teaching snowboard in France don't respect the international snowboard methodoly. There is therefore, in France, a big lack of knowledges and a big lack of security linked to that.

We think that if people don't practice snowboard compared to ski, it's because ski schools prefer to sell ski lessons, invest in ski structures (ski kids area, ski slopes...) instead of snowboard area (like snowpark and shred zona). I's because they prefer to employ ski instructors because they can teach everything* thanks to their paper, instead of snowboard instructors who are specified in their knowledges only (logical!). And practicants know that and loose hope in snowboard evolution and in their eventual possibility of reconversion in snowboard instructor profession. So ski instructors are satisfied to sell their sport in priority. And the ski school directors are satisfied because instead of employing 2 instructors, they can employ only one person without paying attention either to the satisfaction of customers, nor to safety on the slopes. If a customer is not satisfied after a snowboard lesson done by a ski instructors, he will go back to ski anyway because he will be convinced that to learn snowboard, you have to fall all the time! And it's not true! Now that we are qualified and have experience in snowboard only, we know that it's wrong!

But they don't realise that they are killing our sport to sell less and less ski lessons because what people wants, in our time, is to change easily of sports or leisures, with good instructors in both. The way it is, is not the way it was. It's not because ski instructors don't want things to change that things didn't change in minds people!

So, schools continue to maintain that snowboard is not an attractive sport compared to ski and continue to show statistics to make people believe (even the snowboarders) that they are right to act like this because what they say is the truth.
But it's not the case! They say that although the main reason at the basis, why our sport don't get lot's of practicants, is the Olympic Games where snowboard has no representativity in Comities of the whole world. So because parents likes to dream of this medail for their kids, they prefer to register their kids in ski lessons at the youngest age and it's very difficult for snowboard to compete with ski because of that.
Then for the story of practicants statistics, it's the same story of the sheeps which follow the same way! And be careful if one sheep wants to take another way, because the dog will shout on him until it goes back in the herd again! But in this story, who get the money to eat something else than grass or dog food? The sheeps, the dog or the shepherd?

Just for informations : go to Japan and see what we are talking about. Japan employs our french shapers to build park and shapers inform us. If you go overthere, you will be surprised of the diffrence between the countries which believes in snowboard and those which believes in statistics. And that japanese people, during this time, knows how to take advantage of this situation... And if you are aware of this, you will understand how France stopped to win medails in ski and how Japan started to win them. And you will understand, how Japan is trying to do the same with snowboard too! So it's maybe time to french Youth and Sports to wake up and give its agreement to let people who lives from snowboard, taking in charge their sport! It's not when we won't earn money anymore at the olympics games that we will be able to invest in what we are good!

We think that snowboard needs people of knowledges in particular for the reconversion of the riders competitors in the profession of snowboard instructor. Otherwise, situation won't change : riders won't know how to make of their sport a real profession, will fail and won't invest in this activity...
And in France, the association Evolusnow (with SSBS partnair) can carry out this task because their snowboard experts have 25 years of experience in the profession and in tourism and already helped lot's of european countries to improve snowboard teaching.

You will notice that europeans (English people, spanish, italian...) created schools everywhere in France. They cannot employ people who doesn't have a full diploma and they work well. So it's maybe time to wonder how they can do to employ people at the full wages (unlike french school) and why they don't complain about the crisis of mountain economy (unlike french school again). It will be time that french government gives to french people the rights that other european countries have! We really have the feeling that we have a big handicap in comparison, cus we don't play with the same rules at all.

We think french administrative organism must talk about Evolusnow and about snowboard profession informations to people who asks them for it. Because if they continue to associate snowboard with ski and to include the figures in Cross-country skiing, they will never know the real statistics of snowboard. If they just look at numbers instead of checking what happens in the countries which believes in snowboard, they will never know the potential market they are not exploiting.

French skiers say that tourism and enconomy is not good in the mountains? So we are talking to government in turn and to all people who can support us : give us a luck and we will show you that when a country adapts its sport system to novelty, practicants increase and have lots of fun to come back again again and again... We have the biggest ski slopes area of the world in France. So think of the big mistake you are doing for more than 20 years now! Do you think now that it's crisis here and with the model of Japan, it's intelligent to continue on this way? When people are wrong, it's not the numbers of them which counts, it's the results! You don't want to take any risks, I would say why? We don't have anything to loose anymore!
The market, it makes a long time that in France mountains, french people don't have it anymore!

Please give the state certification of the Evolusnow formation and we will do our best to create employments in snowboard with the repercussion the french tourism deserve in our mountains. With the knowledges and experiences we had in other countries, we are now able to confirm everything we are saying in this text!
