Decision-makers in EU institutions and Member States:

We call on you to stop the negotiations with the USA on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and not to ratify the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with Canada. These include several critical issues such as investor-state dispute settlement and rules on regulatory cooperation that pose a threat to democracy and the rule of law. We want to prevent lowering of standards concerning employment, social, environmental, privacy and consumers and the deregulation of public services (such as water) and cultural assets from being deregulated in non-transparent negotiations. We support an alternative trade and investment policy in the EU.

In days we can take a huge step to stop officials handing Monsanto, Bayer and other greedy corporations the keys to our democracy.

The TTIP trade agreement would let Big Business challenge our laws in secret courts, and flood our country with bee-killing pesticides, gas guzzling cars and GM foods. It could also make NHS privatisation irreversible. But if the European Parliament votes the right way next Wednesday, we can stop this madness!
