India's parliamentarians: You overstay, you pay!
To Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker of Lok Sabha, Head of the Directorate of Estates and Arjun Ram Meghwal, Chairman, House Committee, Lok Sabha:
Many members of parliament have misused their entitlements as elected representatives by overstaying in a luxury hotel, even after they were allotted official accommodation. As the presiding officer of the people’s house, it is your duty to ensure that members of the house are disciplined and do not misuse their entitlements. We urge you to direct the Lok Sabha Secretariat not to clear bills of any MP who overstayed and force them to pay for overstaying, instead of the Indian taxpayer.

These MPs finally vacated only after two warning letters from the Housing Committee. Many even had homes in Delhi! News reports say the Lok Sabha secretariat has not yet approved their expenses -- if we raise a massive outcry right now, we can put them all on notice, telling them if they stay, they pay!
Each one of our signatures will make the approval of these bills harder for the secretariat. So sign now then share everywhere -- when we get to 30,000 signers, we’ll deliver a bill to each MP for the amount they’ve spent, with all our signatures on it!
