According to locals and employees of the drilling subcontractor s.c. DAFORA S.A. one worker has died on May 18-19 on Chevron's illegal shale gas exploration site in Pungesti/Romania.
So far, NO official statements of CHEVRON ROMANIA or DAFORA have confirmed these information, nor has the media been informed about the accident.
Since the name of Pungesti has become a symbol of the antifracking fight in Romania, we, the citizens of Romania, deserve to know the truth about this recent and apparently deadly accident. Therefore, we ask you to give us an answer to the following questions:
1. Is it true that a serious accident has happened recently on Chevron's drilling site in Pungesti?
2. Have there been death casualties?
3. What was the cause of the accident and the death of the employee?
4. What is the name of this person, of what age and specialization has he been and where did he come from?
