Climate Case of the Century: 6 kids vs 33 governments

To the President of the European Court of Human Rights:

We, concerned European citizens, are awaiting the verdict in the historic Duarte Agostinho case with bated breath. We want to witness the hearing live and we wish for journalists across Europe to be able to report on the hearing live as well. We are conscious that not everyone will be able to travel to Strasbourg and enter the courtroom. Therefore, we urge the European Court of Human Rights to livestream the entire hearing.

Climate Case of the Century: 6 kids vs 33 governments

In 2022, a marine heatwave cooked the Mediterranean Sea, the Alpine glaciers shrunk at record speed, and summer heat scorching Europe took over 15,000 lives. Climate change is killing people on our continent and across the world. But this year, 6 kids are doing something historic about it: They’re taking a whopping 33 governments to court for their failure to take sufficient climate action.

If they win, the ruling will have an immense impact, legally binding all 33 countries to immediately step up their climate action. Let’s make sure citizens and journalists everywhere are watching this by requesting a livestream that will allow everyone to follow the hearing – regardless of whether they’re able to come to court!

Once enough of us join, we’ll send the court a powerful formal request that showcases the massive public interest in this case and underlines the critical importance of the verdict.
