AI terrifies me, but it also fills me with awe and hope. I worry that there will be no jobs for my son and daughter. I wonder what their chatbot ‘friends’ whisper to them. It sickens me to read about AI leading teens to suicide, or creating revolting sexual images of unconsenting women and girls.

Right now the lawmakers who can rein in the architects of AI are listening to tech lobbyists and not the people.
