Help Indigenous Peoples Reclaim the Amazon

Help Indigenous Peoples Reclaim the Amazon
We're in a race against time for the Amazon.

Either we move faster than the loggers, miners and oil drills -- or they move faster than us, and suck the Amazon dry.

This forest is where our planet feels most alive: from spider monkeys to pink river dolphins, and translucent frogs tucked in the wet moss. It's stayed this way because Indigenous communities have protected it for generations -- treating the forest like family.

But now it's under siege. New logging roads appear each week, soya plantations spread like cities, and more and more laws are being passed that open the door for mining giants and oil companies to let rip.

So Avaaz and Indigenous leaders are urgently launching a bold new plan to reclaim the forest and put it back in Indigenous hands. This fundraiser will enable communities to buy territories, secure leases, and sign legal titles to protect and restore thousands of hectares of land.

Legal titles are power
. Having them means communities can evict loggers, replant trees, and push authorities for even greater protections. With funding, we can secure legal titles for dozens of communities. And the more we raise, the more rainforest we can protect.

We're in a race against the people who want to cut this forest down. That’s why Indigenous Peoples are urgently calling for support. They understand that our world is deeply interconnected, and what happens in the Amazon affects us all. If you feel that too, then become an Amazon defender and donate now.
